Our Story
Founded by a family who has lived it
Sam Adult Care was founded by Rodney and Sherese Dial, inspired by their daughter Asia, who was diagnosed with autism at just three years old. Her journey taught them what it truly means to navigate the system, advocate for meaningful support, and fight for environments where people with developmental disabilities are understood and empowered.
That lived experience is the heart of everything we do: an agency rooted in dignity, respect, and genuine connection.

Meet Rodney Dial
Rodney Dial, BSW, MPA
Co-Founder & Chief Operating Officer
Rodney was doing this work long before Sam Adult Care had a name. He has spent his career in case management and recovery, sitting with people at some of the hardest points of their lives and helping them find a way forward. That work taught him the thing this agency is built on: people are not cases to be processed. They need someone who listens first, and then does exactly what they said they would do.
He holds a Bachelor of Social Work and a Master of Public Administration. Social work taught him to start with the person, their history, their strengths, and what they actually want their life to look like. Public administration taught him how to build something that delivers on that reliably, week after week.
The education that shaped him most, though, happened at home. His daughter Asia was diagnosed with autism at three years old. Everything that followed, the meetings, the paperwork, the advocating, the long search for people who would see her as a person and not a diagnosis, is the reason this agency exists. Rodney has been on the receiving end of the system he now works inside, and he has not forgotten what that felt like.
Ask him why he does this and the answer is short: help people, and leave the community stronger than he found it. That is what drives him, and it is why he still leads Sam Adult Care himself, day to day, across Cuyahoga County. When a family reaches out, Rodney is usually the first person they speak with.
